There is a very alarming trend on which I believe I must comment. If you look around you, in pop culture, you'll see that darkness is widely sought after. Things that are marketed or presented as dark and morbid, are the ones which receive wide public acceptance. The following is just a sample of some of the insanely popular presentations that our society seems to crave.

I've watched the Digicel Rising Stars programme from the first season, and had great expectations for this show. However, after a couple seasons it has become apparent to me that this show has some fundamental problems. The whole premise of the show was originally to find the best talent in the Caribbean. This, however, cannot be effectively achieve under the present format for the following reasons.
